“Two of my favourite things are sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe of sweet hemp and playing my harmonica,” Abraham Lincoln
Take your harmonica playing further in our new “Intermediate Harmonica” course with multi-instrumentalist Ed Hopwood.
Perfect for graduates of our “Harmonica for Beginners” course, this course is also suitable for harmonica players who have picked up basic skills elsewhere. You’ll be able to take this course if you know how to hold the harmonica, how to position your mouth and how to play chords and single notes.
Over 12 video-based lessons, Ed gets you playing key blues riffs and licks, a folk tune in a minor key and the blues scale. You’ll learn how to bend notes and how to add effects like throat tremolo, and you’ll master playing clear single notes on tricky holes.
The course includes handy printable tabs, plus access to a community forum. Each lesson features instruction on technique from Ed and a chance to play along with him before practising on your own. You can learn at your own pace by hitting “pause” and rewinding any time, and you can go back and watch any of the lessons again.
With Ed as your knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, you’ll soon be playing the blues at your local jam.
