Join in the merriment, 8-10 July
Calling all Idlers! We’re very excited to be releasing Day Tickets to the Idler Festival. Set in the beautiful gardens and interiors of Fenton House, Hampstead, there are three days of merriment, talks, workshops, walks and general loafing in a summer orchard to be had.
In the box below you’ll find a full programme listing. Highlights include Arthur Smith’s surrealism walk on the Friday afternoon, Sally Phillips performing brand new monologues on Saturday, and the chance to learn a Ukrainian folk song on Sunday.
There’s something for everyone – from relaxing in the orchard with a cocktail in hand to getting to grips with radical arguments around work, the commons, or the female animal.
Plus our headliner Jarvis Cocker will talking about his new book, Good Pop, Bad Pop, on Saturday.
Tickets are priced:
Friday: £40. Elif Shafak, Arthur Smith, Daisy Buchanan, Edward Chancellor, John Lloyd, Peter Fincham, Guy Standing, Louis Eliot and more
Saturday: £60. Jarvis Cocker, Sally Phillips, Lea Ypi, William Dalrymple, Ben Moor, David Wengrow, Mary Wellesley, Seb Falk, Fräulein and more
Sunday: £50. Lauren Child, Glen Baxter, Margaret Drabble, Matthew Green, East Warsaw Ensemble, Charles Hazlewood and more
Note programme changes: Elif Shafak is now speaking on Friday. Oliver Burkeman has had to cancel his talk on saying “no” on the Saturday. He’ll be replaced by Tom Hodgkinson who will discuss the same theme with Mark Vernon.
