‘Where are you going to-day?’ says Pooh:
‘Well, that’s very odd ’cos I was too.’
Come on a guided stroll with Pooh around the Hundred Acre Wood in East Sussex. We’ll hunt woozles, play poohsticks, trap heffalumps, visit Rabbit’s friends and relations and quite possibly discover the North Pole. We’ll visit all the real-life locations from A. A. Milne’s much-loved books, including Pooh’s Thoughtful Place, Eeyore’s Sad and Gloomy Place and Christopher Robin’s Enchanted Place: there’ll be hums, hunts, smackerels and, of course, plenty of honey. This is a walk for six- and sixty-year-olds, for anyone who likes “a little something at eleven o’clock in the morning”.
Start: Pooh Corner Tea Room, Hartfield, 11.30am
Finish: The Anchor Inn, Hartfield, 3.30pm
We’ll start with tea and cake at Pooh Corner Tea Room in Hartfield, the home of A. A. Milne, before heading off on a guided walk through leafy Ashdown Forest. We’ll have a picnic lunch on the way so please bring something with you. The walk will finish at the cosy Anchor Inn.
We can arrange transport from East Grinstead station to the tea room for a small extra charge (est. £4 per person). We recommend the following train for this:
Victoria Station to East Grinstead: arriving at 10:50am (or any other train arriving before 11am)
