Join Idler choirmaster Tom Williams of St Martin-in-the-Fields for a day of singing workshops and choral practice.
Suitable for beginners and more experienced singers alike, this one-day course covers all the elements of singing in a group, from music notation and theory to four-part harmonies and warm-ups.
The sessions will be split into beginner and intermediate levels according to experience, and there will be hands-on coaching for each of the choir sections and workshop groups. Whether you’re a longstanding choir member looking to brush up on essentials or completely new to the idea, you’re bound to benefit from this course.
Tom Williams is one of London’s top choirmasters. Based at St Martin-in-the-Fields, he has been running the Idler Choir for the past five years. Tom will be joined by professional four musicians and singing teachers, who will help run the various sessions. While they’ll be teaching you seriously, this workshop will also remind you that singing in a group is seriously good fun.
