AT THE Tory Party Conference, David Cameron called the Tories a “trade union for hardworking people”. Once again we idlers are scandalously ignored by the policymakers, we, the ones who create the art, the music, the philosophy, the culture, in short, everything that makes life worth living! Sidelined, cast into the shadows by the ruthless utilitarians in Parliament. Down with Jeremy Bentham! Down with utility! Down with “hard-working families”, the “global race”, and all the other tired bits of Tory Newspeak that privilege only the slavish! Let’s have a revolution for fun!
