Out on the town: The High Llamas have written a play

Julian Mash | 9 Oct 2014

The Idler Academy Julian Mash’s recommends the High Llamas chief’s new play about life in Peckham

LONDON-based idlers are in for a treat as chief High Llama Sean O’Hagan, friend of the Idler and acclaimed songwriter, producer and arranger presents his latest project. Here Come the Rattling Trees is a new play set to open on October 25th in the West End. Anyone who came along to Sean’s exclusive instore gig at the Academy last year will know they can expect magic. Combining live music and spoken word, performed by the band and three actors, the play is set in Sean’s native Peckham and explores themes of urban renewal and contemporary London life.

Here Come The Rattling Trees will run from Monday 20th to Saturday 25th at the Tristan Bates Theatre in Covent Garden. Further details here: tristanbatestheatre.co.uk/whats-on/here-come-the-rattling-trees
