Michael Palin’s new collection of diaries, Travelling to Work, has gone into the charts at number 7. You may not know that Mr Palin is a patron of the Idler Academy. Earlier this year, we recorded this hour-long interview live in front of an audience of 200 at Notting Hill’s Westbourne Grove Church, where Palin talks about how to be a successful bohemian and reveals a joke that never made it into The Life of Brian. It’s a wonderful treat and we hope you enjoy it. Tom (Main photograph copyright John Swannell).
Michael Palin’s new book Travelling to Work: Diaries 1988-1998 (Weidenfeld) is out now.
