In 1998, Louis Theroux proposed interviewing David Soul for the Idler. He’d discovered that the star of both the pop world and of Starsky and Hutch was living in Maida Vale in west London. We enthusisatically agreed to Louis’s suggestion and he filed this brilliant encounter. I remember the thrill I got when reading it for the first time.
