The Idler Questionnaire: Jason Williamson of Sleaford Mods

WE PUT THE Idler Questionnaire to the excellent Jason Williamson of Sleaford Mods. Some of you may know that Mr Brett, the Idler’s printer, has printed a very beautiful edition of Mr Williamson’s collected lyrics entitled Grammar Wanker. The frequently hilarious and often touching lines work brilliantly on the printed page. You may read more by following the link to to the right (or below on phones).

Jason, we’re pleased to add, has recently quit his job to concentrate on SM full time. Here are his answers.

1. Are you happy?

Sort of.

2. What are you reading?

Why We Can’t Afford the Rich by Andrew Sayer.

3. What was your worst job?

Working for HMV. Fucking awful.

4. How many hours do you work each day?

45 mins; longer if we do an encore.

5. Town mouse or country mouse?

Both.

6. Does love bring happiness or unhappiness?

Both.

7. Mp3 or vinyl? Ebook or real book?

MP3 but coming round to records. Deffo a real book.

8. What are your three greatest pleasures?

My family. Listening to music. Making music.

9. Do you believe in the nap?

Yea deffo.

10. What advice do you have for young people?

None. You’ll find out soon enough.
