FRAMPOLD. Cross; ill-humoured. It has been explained as a Sussex word for “fretful, peevish”. A 1674 usage runs: “Ill will’d and frampled waspishness.” As in, “I’m going to phone in sick today, love. I’m feeling a bit frampled.” It occurs in various old authors with various spellings.
